Loring La Barbera Schwarz

Board Member

Loring moved to Sudbury with her husband Andy and their family in 1992. For 30 years, Loring worked on environmental issues, most recently as Director of the Climate Change Program at Mass Audubon which is addressing this threat through education, policy, member action, and land conservation. In her 25 years with The Nature Conservancy, Loring directed a national system of state Natural Heritage Programs; led science policy, revitalized its Eastern Caribbean Program; served as Mediterranean Region Project Advisor; and led the Massachusetts TNC state office. Loring maintains advisory roles with Native Plant Trust, International Land Conservation Network, and Massachusetts Master Gardeners. She covers natural resources policy for League of Women Voters of MA and serves on the Board of the Massachusetts Land Trust Coalition and Friends of Spannocchia. Loring holds a B.S. in Biology from Tufts University and a Master of Forest Science from Yale University.
