CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS
Since our establishment in 2008, we have relied upon the professional direction and support of the Trustees and the Director, together with the generosity of our donors, to successfully complete capital projects that secure the excellence and vitality of Goodnow. We have funded key enhancements to the Library including:
the Children’s Room renovation and the complete overhaul of the Library’s technology offerings;
the creation of the first floor Community Gathering Space with additional upgraded technology and STEAM equipment;
and the most recent “Reimagining the Second Floor Project” that includes the creation of the NOW Lab, the new Teen Area, a modern Technology Center, and the refurbishment of the Historical Octagon.
The funds provided by the GLF to these projects total more than half a million dollars to date.
We are now working with the current Board of Trustees to renovate the Library’s beautiful Historical Room. The Library has already been awarded a $150,000 grant from the Community Preservation Committee for the renovation and we are beginning a fundraising campaign to raise an additional $50,000 to complete the project.
