What We Fund
Since its establishment in 2008, the GLF has relied upon the professional direction and support of the Library Trustees and Library Director Esme Green, together with the generosity of its donors, to successfully complete capital projects that secure the excellence and vitality of Goodnow.

The GLF has funded key enhancements to the Library including:
-
refurbishment of the Children’s Room
-
the complete overhaul of the Library’s technology offerings including state-of-the-art networked public access terminals, iPads, iMacs, Chromebooks, a wireless printer, Apple TV; and STEAM equipment throughout the Library
-
the creation of the first floor Community Gathering Space including a lobby HD-TV bulletin board, comfortable chairs for gathering and a coffee station
-
the “Reimagining the Second Floor Project” that includes the creation of the Sara Sherman NOW Lab, the new Teen Area, a modern Technology Center, and the refurbishment of the Historical Octagon
-
and renovations to the Library’s beautiful Historical Room (in 2020 the Library was awarded a $150,000 grant from the Community Preservation Committee for the renovation, and the GLF raised an additional $67,000 to complete the project; work is nearly finished)
The funds provided by the GLF to these projects total more than half a million dollars to date.
